Dmitry Khlebushkin, a survivor of the Moscow air disaster has sparked fury after he walked from the airport with a backpack, prompting claims he may have blocked passengers behind him from escaping due to the delay caused by his size and him grabbing his precious backpack.
But there is more.
The unremorseful Khlebushkin has also demanded a refund for the flight – since he never reached Murmansk – and complained about his treatment by Aeroflot staff saying the airline ‘consists of heartless and unprofessional people’.
According to reports in Russia, only three passengers behind Khlebushkin – who was sitting in seat 10C – survived the fire.
Some comments online about Mr. Khlebushkin:
‘He saved his backpack. And he is looking really great, knowing that everyone further back than the 11th row died.’
‘The first passengers tried to throw out their bags from the cabin and then to slide down. This is why there are delays.’
‘That fat man from the video who was angry that he did not get a refund within 40 minutes – he surely took his bag from the overhead compartment despite all the other people,’
Is this man in his right mind?
Doesn’t he know that he should count himself very fortunate to be alive?
How insensitive of him to be asking for a refund while relatives of 41 victims mourn their loss just nearby?
